While NYC buzzes with hurried footsteps over grey, slush-covered streets, my town of Cranbury has its own charming pace for the winter. The lake freezes over, creating another playground where the children chase hockey pucks and skate figures into the ice.

Snow lined roads are framed by white capped trees, branches heavy with fresh powder. There's a quiet in the crisp air, save for the occasional crunch of the snow underfoot.

There are no holiday displays on 5th Ave to gawk over here; yet, in place of the glittering storefronts, a natural beauty surrounds on peaceful walks.
